The past 2 months have been a whirlwind! Knox Physio has been ever evolving and building a community of amazing resources here in Knoxville, TN.
Today (I’m typing this out on the night of March 26th) Knox Physio was a part of the open house at Scruffy City Doula in Fountain City/Knoxville, TN. It was such an exciting time!! It was so nice to have support from the local community of the birth support network. It was also great to see old clients, potential new clients and current clients all coming together. There was food, fun, a raffle, great conversations, and needless to say ALL the children had a great time!
After meeting and talking to so many different types of providers, I just feel the desire to shout from the roof tops: “There is endless pregnancy & postpartum support!!!!”
So why do people not utilize this?
Why do women not realize we exist?
Why do doctors not educate women on all the options out there?
(Full disclosure I realize that the responsibility of education can’t ALWAYS fall on the MD, but the unfortunate truth is that the OB/MD is most regular healthcare provider a person sees for pregnancy and postpartum = they are the only source of education they have)
This has only re-motivated me to reach out more into the community, build awareness, and hopefully create a new “standard” of healthcare for women.
Because seriously it’s 2022.
It’s not the 1800s anymore. So let’s change the narrative of women’s healthcare.
