This past weekend I had the privilege of attending the Uncaged Clinician’s Live Event 2022 in Denver, CO. First of all, it was an amazing and humbling experience. I cannot express how thankful I am for the Uncaged Clinician company for putting this event together. There were many fantastic speakers (I mean all of them were wonderful), great workshops, conversations, and plenty of time for the community of us that are trying to grow our business to get to know one another.
Some of our keynote speakers included Matt Phillips and Jake Thompson, both of which, gave such amazing talks – I ran out of pages to write notes on! (Ha!) The fantastic coaches of Josh, Kevin, and David also gave us pump-up talks (or in Kevin’s case – non pump up talks). This entire event was so inspiring and motivating, it was hard not to leave feeling ready to go conquer the world. It was a universal feeling by everyone there – we learned many valuable lessons about really digging deep and evaluating ourselves. Because for me: the biggest problem in my business has been myself.
The journey of starting your own business, and then feeling like you have to “grind” all hours of the day to just simply survive is not sustainable. The past few months I have been feeling nothing short of anxiety, imposter syndrome, fatigue like no other, and this deep sense of “I have nothing left to give”.
My number one role in life will always be a mother. The other hats I wear during the day include wife, daughter of Christ, friend, physical therapist, business owner, taxi, neighbor, sister, and daughter. I get to juggle all of this and I am so blessed and happy. However, my ability to balance all the hats has led to a very unsustainable lifestyle and I’ve been feeling it…
I’ve been feeling it in my relationship with my business…
I’ve been feeling it in my feelings toward my parenting…
I’ve been feeling it in my marriage,…
I’ve been feeling it in my faith…
The theme of the Uncaged Event was Sustainability… something I needed desperately. A business should be sustainable for you and eventually work for you. I am so grateful to have learned so much in order to strive to lead a more sustainable life and business model.
To achieve balance in life, and in my business I am going to be focusing on balance in the 5 F’s:
If you want to take this model and evaluate your balance in the 5 F’s – it can be very insightful when trying to achieve the happiest version of yourself possible!
